Intro

Over nearly twenty years, Synthesis has partnered with global pharmaceutical leaders, specialized consultancies, life-science technology firms, and early-stage startups. Deep expertise in biopharmaceutical R&D anchors the practice — but the fundamentals travel, as the last engagement below attests.

MedImmune – Regulatory Document Management

Implemented a new regulatory document management platform supporting both manufacturing and regulatory affairs, bringing CMC and submissions functions onto shared, compliant infrastructure and streamlining the document lifecycle that underpins regulatory filings.

AstraZeneca – Informatics Solution Evaluation

Supported the Biopharmaceutical Development group’s evaluation of informatics management solutions — structuring the assessment, engaging stakeholders and subject matter experts, and grounding the decision in the group’s actual scientific and operational needs.

AstraZeneca – Biopharmaceutical Development Information Portal

Designed and delivered a SharePoint-based information portal for Biopharmaceutical Development. Working from stakeholder requirements, we produced design concepts using out-of-the-box capabilities, built the site with a deliberate focus on minimizing ongoing maintenance, and documented the design so BPD staff could sustain and extend it independently — including a business-aligned plan for migrating tools into a compliant setting.

20/15 Visioneers – Technology Market Research

Researched and authored a white paper assessing the market position and technical merits of a Japan-based synthetic biology company (Oriciro). The company was subsequently acquired.

PerkinElmer — Voice-of-Customer & Marketing Strategy

In partnership with 20/15 Visioneers and Polaris Strategic Partners, conducted focused feedback sessions with scientists across the industry and translated those insights into marketing material for PerkinElmer — grounding the messaging in what practitioners actually said, rather than what the market assumed they wanted.

Emerging Biotech — Maryland Biotech Incubator

Advised early-stage life-science companies in the Maryland biotech incubator community, including Alphagenics — often on a pro-bono or equity basis, in recognition of the funding constraints young companies face. The work addressed technology strategy and infrastructure decisions at the stage when those choices are hardest to reverse and most consequential.

Concrete Construction — Business Process Analysis

Conducted business process analysis for a concrete construction company, mapping the operating model and identifying efficiencies across its workflows. Different industry, same discipline: understand how the work actually gets done before recommending how to change it.

Facing a decision where this experience would help?

We take on engagements selectively. If the problem is consequential and the fit is right, we’d like to hear about it.
